It's Official...They're TWO!!!

I know I said I was done with Blogger for a while and that we were going back to Shutterfly, but unfortunately, I haven't done anything on either site!  SO, here I am back again announcing that our sweet baby girls are officially 2 YEARS OLD!!!

Two years ago to this hour, I was having some crazy contractions (about 10 or so minutes apart) and telling everyone around me that no, it's false labor, we can wait until Tues. (my NEW c-section scheduled date).  But, come to find out, they were real labor contractions and when I was finally convinced and went to the hospital around 1pm on April 30 it was confirmed by the nurse that yes, I was in fact in labor.  The OR was scheduled and at 4:15pm my Maggie was born and 4:17 came my Emma.  In some ways it seems like it was just yesterday and in others it seems like a lifetime ago.  I am so excited to have toddlers and cannot wait to see what this next year has in store for my little bugs!

I will post some party pics of the girls in the next few days...by the way, they are SO excited about their party.  They spent the entire shopping spree at HEB yesterday chanting, "Parrrrttttyyy!"  It was so cute!!!

Hope this post finds you all well, safe and happy.  God bless you all!

Taking a break

Hi Family and Friends,

I have decided to take a break from blogger.  I think I am going to go back to my shutterfly ways and start posting pictures and mini-updates there.  Maybe I will come back to this blog one day but we'll see.  My shutterfly address is farrellfamily05.shutterfly.com.  If I have never invited you to be a member you can e-mail me with your e-mail address and I will gladly invite you to be a member.  Jason and I are more comfortable with shutterfly because you do have to sign in and be an approved viewer of our website...we like that extra sense of security.  AND I can post a lot more pictures...that's a nice option too since I can never pick out which one's make the cut on this site!  I probably won't get to updating the shutterfly site until closer to the weekend, but check it out sometime.  There are some uber cute pics of the girls when they were babies on there now.

Farewell blogspot...(for now anyway)!

Blah!

Me and a friend (Kim) used to say "blah" to each other all of the time in 8th grade.  We had a facial expression when we said it to each other and everything.  We even had journals that we would pass back and forth and write our thoughts, fears, concerns, regrets, yaddy, yadda...whatever it was that was on our 8th grade minds and we called them our "Blah" books.  I wish I could find one of them now, I am sure the stresses of an 8th grader would make me chuckle now that I have real adult stresses.  It's quite funny though, that was 17 years ago and I still feel like that little 8th grader sometimes.  Like not much has changed about me, but oh how it has.

Anyway, I didn't mean to post about Kim or my blah book, I just wanted to say Blah!  I am in a blogging funk.  Blah, blah, blah!  There hasn't been much on my mind, I have been too lazy to upload pictures to the computer and even if I wasn't lazy, I don't have the patience to deal with my SLOW, ancient computer and then there's that thing called time.  There's never any time.  With babies, work, housework, family, etc., etc., etc. I am finding it very hard to make it to bed at a decent hour, none the less post a blog entry.  I promise, I will get out of my funk and post some super cute pictures of my super cute babies soon.  Oh, and there's the fact that it seems like most of my blog followers have fallen off the face of the earth.  I feel like my posts are sometimes all for not.  So people, if you're reading, don't be "silent visitors".  Leave me a comment, I love comments and it reminds me that you all are out there reading my blogs and I am not just typing to phantom cyber space.

BLAH!!!  Okay, I am done!

Now, on to some updates.  Maggie got strep on my birthday last Friday.  She's been on antibiotics since and will finish on Sunday, hallelujah!  Tyler got pharyngitis on Saturday after my birthday, was running a really high fever and was severely dehydrated.  He too is on antibiotics and finishes tomorrow.  And last night Emma threw up in her crib three times.  Yep, three baths, three changes of clothes, three cleaning up of the bed and three lovey's soaked.  Not fun.  We think the vomiting was just something that didn't agree with her little tummy and not a bug.  No fever, aches, lack of appetite, nothing.  Just three bouts of vomit and poof, done.  All three kids are feeling good now.  Tyler spent the week with Summer and John (Jason's parent's) for spring break out on their property and had a blast.  He got home today and will stay through Sunday.  The girls are loving their bubba being back home.  Oh how they adore him and he them.  It does mine and Jason's hearts so good to see the three of them together.  Saturday the guys are doing yard work and the girls and I are going to our good friend Hutch's 2nd birthday party.  We just found out that he and his family are going to be moving to Jackson, MS at the end of the month, so we are definitely going to have to give lots of hugs.  Sniffle, sniffle.  We're gonna miss you guys!  Sunday it's church, and then after the first service I am helping with the 2nd service 3 year old class while Daddy brings home the kiddos and feeds them, then after naps it's off to my parent's house for our weekly get together with the fam.  It's gonna be a fun weekend!

Well, that's about it for now.  I promise we will have some pictures to post soon!  God bless!

My last few hours as a "20-Something"

Good evening all (well...there aren't so many of you these days).  Tonight is my birthday eve.  After today I will no longer be a crazy 20 something, I will be a wise, mature 30 year old.  That's the way it goes anyway, right?!?!

I am not sure why 30 is such a huge milestone, it's not like a baby turning 1 or a great, great Grandma turning 100!  It's just 30.  I don't feel any different and I am definitely not sad to be leaving my 20's behind in a cloud of dust.  The 20's were fun and wow, the accomplishments, but now I am looking on to the great things to come in my 30's.  God has blessed me so much in these first 30 years, I am so very thankful and ready to see what he has in store for me in these next 30!  I hope to have a few less regrets in these years to come, but I guess most people do make their most bone-headed choices in the first 30 years of their lives (I said MOST).  And hopefully in the next 30 I can learn to forgive myself for those bad choices and stop the torment of regret.  I don't have the time or energy for regret and if God can forgive me for those bad decisions, then I too should, right?  I will work on that in my next 30 years and I will try to make good choices in an effort to keep the regret list short!

As for now, it's off to a shower and bed, yep it's 8:59pm and I am tired...you know, tomorrow I will be 30!  I think that warrants a little earlier bedtime, huh?!?

God bless the few of you still following me.  Good night!

Videos

Hey all!  I just wanted to post some cute, recent videos of the girls.  They are both feeling much better, thanks for all of the prayers and well wishes.  They still have some coughing moments but it's obvious in their actions that they are feeling so much better.  Enjoy the videos of my sweet little buggers!

In this video we are looking at our friend Riley's blog.  The girls love their cyber friend Riley and love to look at her pictures and videos online.  Maybe one day we'll get to meet Riley in person!  The quality of this video is less than good as I had both girls in my lap while trying to video them...it was a bit tricky!

Here I am prepping them for their 2nd birthday coming up in April.  They are so smart, I tell ya.  Jason and I wonder every day where in the heck they get that from--certainly not from their Momma!

And then there is the silly laughing video.  Cousin Braiden was over the other day making them giggle-I missed the hysterical laughter on camera because I busted it out too late, but this is still pretty cute.  They think he is just so funny...I guess it does help when he has silly bunny ears flying off of his head!  Please forgive all of the commotion in the background.  Either Carson or Chayse was playing with the keyboard--it's loud when you get 5 kiddos together in one playroom!

Have a fantastic week and God bless!

Sick...again!

Hey All!  Sorry it's been a while since my last post.  Our girls have been sick--yep, again!  They now have crupe, some bronchial funk and are on the verge of ear infections.  Pretty much what 60% of all kiddos in  central Texas have right now from all of the crazy weather.  We took them to the doc on Monday and she put them on an oral steroid and Albuterol breathing treatments.  We weren't quite sure how they would do with the breathing treatments but surprisingly they did alright.  Emma went first and screamed bloody murder for about the first 3 or so minutes and then she became very interested in the machine and did pretty well the rest of the time.  Maggie started out great and after about 10 minutes she started crying but I think it was just because she had to be restrained for 10 min. and was ready to go play.  All in all, they did pretty good having never used a nebulizer before.  They are old pros now.  The only thing they don't like is having to sit for so long, they get antsy!  It was so funny though after the first breathing treatment, Emma was so high on Albuterol.  She was running back and forth on the couch, jumping off of it, running into things and her eyes were so big.  It was so funny!  We got a kick out of her Albuterol high!  Maggie didn't get nearly as hyper as Emma--it's so weird how it affected them differently!  As of today, they are feeling much better and aren't waking up 20 times a night from coughing...good meds!  They still aren't wanting to take more than about 35 min. naps much to my dismay as that is my work time, but first and foremost, I am Mommy and must take care of them!  Below are some pics of their very first Albuterol breathing treatments.  God bless you all!

My poor sickies--this was their worse day!  (M left, Em right)

Emma-not enjoying it so much...but Maggie was super curious (look how pale M's face was, she was feeling so icky!

Em still not thrilled!

And she's okay now--sort of.

Maggie-show off!

Maggie-so curious.

Oh boy, look at those eyes...this was during Em's Albuterol high afterwards!

Fun filled weekend!

***Disclaimer--this post is very heavy on pictures!***

Our weekend started on Friday when we met Kathy, her kiddos Chayse and Carson and our other niece Kenley at the Jumpy Place.  The kids had a BLAST!  We stayed there for about 2 and a half hours.  This time, not only would the girls actually go inside of the bounce houses, but they LOVED playing in them!

Then it was off to Dairy Queen for lunch where Carson ate his burger and then couldn't keep his eyes open any longer...we really wore him out at the Jumpy Place!

Saturday night Kathy, Chayse, Kenley and I had "girls night" at our house since Jason was in San Antonio for his reserves drill.   We ate popcorn, candy, painted nails and watched Ice Age.  By about 9:45 everyone (except me) was crashed out!  HA!...party animals!  I can't wait until Maggie and Emma are old enough to stay up for girls night.  As for now, they are ready to go to bed by 7pm so they just sleep through it!

We ended our weekend with a visit from Jason's mom on Sunday and our reunion with Daddy Sunday evening.  While all three of us missed Daddy tremendously, we managed to have a fantastic weekend--we kept ourselves really busy while he was out of town which made it go by a ton faster!
